How I Came to AWA

Carol's Story

"Both stimulating and comforting creatively, a very safe environment emotionally"

"Revelatory"

"Cerebral cross-pollination"

These are typical reactions of writers--some neophytes, some experienced--who have just participated in their first Amherst Writers & Artists workshop. Mine was different. I said: "Finally--an antidote to writer's block that will work for me!"

In June 2004, I was creatively depleted following the publication and promotion of my first book, "Meeting Louis at the Fair." Pat Corrigan invited me to join her AWA workshop, and before long my creative juices were bubbling again.

My own experience has convinced me that the AWA method works. Now, following leadership certification, I'm pleased that I can share it with other other writers. Join us and discover the exhilaration of "writing on air."

By the way, though I now lead my own groups, I'm still a member of Pat's original workshop. The warm, generous and talented people I've met via AWA are an irresistible fringe benefit!
